For those users mac holding a JVC Everio camcorder (such as JVC Everio GZ-MG330), becomes a bloody nightmare to manage. mod file on it. Although MOD video files are only modified MPEG-2 files with AC3 audio, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and many other Mac video editors could not recognize it. The only way to work is to convert the MOD file to MPG / MPEG. (The program that comes with the brand camcorders can apparently do this for you, but it gives bad result for some reason.)
